Tips for choosing the right air conditioner
Buying an air conditioner is a major investment for which you will need to consider important factors like your cooling requirements, budget, energy efficiency, and greenhouse gas emissions. If energy efficiency ranks high in your air conditioner specifications, then you’ll have to check the Energy Rating Label first before buying. Energy consumption is expressed in kilowatt hours or KwH which you may find together with a unit’s greenhouse gas emission star rating. Low KwH means lower energy consumption while a high energy star rating like 4 stars means that the unit is very eco friendly. Between two units bearing the same star rating and different energy consumptions, choose the one with lower KwH for greater energy savings.
