Beginner triathlon training does not make you a triathlete; you will be a triathlete after you have raced
Coming to the conclusion that you want to be a triathlete is actually an immense goal to have. However, after completing your beginner triathlon training that normally consists of biking, swimming, and running you are still not considered a triathlete until you have actually completed the race.
Many note that the most important aspect to your first triathlon is the distance that you are going to be required to go. Be aware that all triathlons are different. It would be a better rule of thumb to focus your beginner triathlon training on increasing the amount of distance that you can travel for all triathlon events and not focus on meeting a certain number of miles.
