Prices of personalised number plates
Prices of personalised number plates vary enormously. This is entirely due to supply and demand. If demand for a particular combination of letters outstrips the supply capacity it creates capacity for prices to be inflated. Similar effects can be seen in limited edition cars such as Ferraris and sometimes when the property market is in a runaway phase, prices achieved can be far higher than expected. This is usually a transient effect but with registration numbers, unless the DVLA releases a glut of new registartion numbers the supply element is fixed and cannot change. Demand may dip with the economy but will always be high.
